In November of 2011 the play loud! team talked to Mani Neumeier about his life as a musician and artist. During the conversation, he commented on film footage from an open air gig during the art fair "Kunstzone München 1971", which ended in chaos when police took the stage. play loud! exclusively presents for the first time ever this never-before-seen footage.
Mani Neumeier is a German rock musician, free jazz-drummer, artist, and frontman of the German Krautrock-band Guru Guru. He has collaborated with numerous bands and artists, such as Dieter Möbius, Damo Suzuki, Harmonia, Hans-Karsten Raecke, Irène Schweizer, Peter Brötzmann, Sonny Sharrock, Uchihashi Kazuhisa, Jojo Hiroshige, Kawabata Makoto, Yoshida Tatsuya, and Luigi Archetti. He lives in Germany and Japan, and has also regularly collaborated with Japanese jam and noise bands Acid Mothers Temple and Hijokaidan. The wax museum of Tokyo has a figure of him.
